Newcastle & Lake Macquarie home sales

Newcastle & Lake Macquarie home sales have fallen by -2.6 per cent, with 8,204 homes transacting over the year
to November 2017. Values have increased for both houses and units across the region with house values
increasing by 12.9 per cent to $594,060, and unit values up 9.3 per cent to $465,569 when compared to December
2016. In dollar terms, this is an increase of around $68k for houses and $39k for units. Homes are selling faster
than they were 12 months ago with a typical house selling in 48 days, down from 62 days, while the average unit is
selling in 53 days, down from 68 days. Rental rates across the region have risen by $20/week for houses and
$10/week for units over the year to December.
